Meet David Hale

I met Kris Davidson as he was laying out the artwork for the newly refurbished Georgia Theatre in Athens. He had it all laying down the hall of the studios and I was fascinated. I’m pretty sure my first words to Kris were “That would make a FABULOUS quilt!” He probably thought I was crazy. But the conversation was begun and even though there is still no quilt to show for our efforts I am so proud of the “Shed Your Skin” covers. Personally, I think Kris and David bring out the absolute best in each other.  Going into a room when they are both there one feels the creative spark as if the air was alive.

David Hale is a very fine artist and tattoo artist, known worldwide for his album covers, band posters, festival posters, and of course his one-of-a-kind, personalized tattoos. I rarely see David that he doesn’t have a pen in hand. He effortlessly melds Native American art with symbolism that reflects his deep spirituality, imbuing in each image a tranquility or energy that makes them seem as though they will  walk off the page. David’s studio name is LoveHawk.

Erin Mcintosh is one of the most elegant women I have been privileged to know. She is very quiet and soft spoken, yet she has this uncanny way of absorbing the world around her and then putting it back out in ways that speak volumes. Her choices of color, her shapes, all speak to me in myriad voices. She always has a dreamy air around her, as though she is planning the next canvas. Erin has artwork hanging in international corporations and homes all over the world. And the most fun about Erin is you absolutely never know what she’ll be working on next!
